Le port de Toulon – La Seyne / Brégaillon

Since its decentralisation in 2007, the administrative perimeter of Toulon – La Seyne – Brégaillon port covers the entire bay area, including the ports of Saint-Louis du Mourillon and Saint-Mandrier. The Port Authority is TPM, whilst policing of the port is a national responsibility, with the civil prefect being represented by the Harbour Master and his 5 officers. The Harbour Master’s office is also in charge of berth allocation for the Port Authority. TPM is responsible for security measures for the port’s terrestrial areas.

Key figures

Toulon’s berths are used for all usual port activities, except containers and liquid bulk. 2016 was a record-breaking year for Toulon :

– Number one ferry port for Corsica with 1.5 million passengers
– Number 2 passenger port in France after Calais with 4.5 million passengers including the Réseau Mistral shuttle services
– 472 252 cruise passengers in 2017
– 70 000 trucks and trailers on the Highway of the Sea between Toulon and Pendik (Turkey)
– 262 superyacht calls to berths and shipyards in 2016
– 181 448 pleasure boat calls to the 4000 berths available in the bay

Major projects

TPM has several projects Toulon – La Seyne – Brégaillon at different operational stages. All these projects include sustainability considerations. They include :

– renovation of port infrastructures and industrial wasteland at Bois Sacré for the implantation of the new Monaco Marine yard
– extension of the Brégaillon commercial terminal
